Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

Applied Mathematics on Science and Engineering (AMSE) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics, research integrity, and academic excellence. The journal follows internationally recognized ethical standards and adheres to the principles and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher are expected to uphold honesty, transparency, fairness, and accountability throughout the publication process.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to AMSE are expected to comply with the following ethical standards:

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must submit original work that has not been published or simultaneously submitted elsewhere. All sources, including previously published work, must be appropriately cited. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and copyright infringement are considered serious ethical violations and may result in rejection or retraction.

Authorship

Only individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the research should be listed as authors. All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission. Contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately.

Data Integrity

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all data, figures, and results are accurate, complete, and honestly reported. Fabrication, falsification, selective reporting, or manipulation of research data is strictly prohibited.

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, professional, or personal relationships that could influence the interpretation or presentation of the research. All potential conflicts of interest should be declared at the time of submission.

Ethical Approval

Research involving human participants or animals must comply with applicable ethical regulations and institutional guidelines. Authors must provide details of approval obtained from the appropriate ethics committee or institutional review board, together with information regarding informed consent where applicable.

Multiple or Duplicate Submission

Manuscripts must not be submitted simultaneously to more than one journal or publication. Duplicate submission or redundant publication is considered unethical and may result in immediate rejection.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers play an essential role in maintaining the scientific quality and integrity of the journal.

Confidentiality

All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share, discuss, or use unpublished information contained in the manuscript for personal or professional benefit.

Objectivity

Reviews should be objective, constructive, and based solely on scientific merit. Personal criticism of the authors is inappropriate.

Conflict of Interest

Reviewers should decline invitations to review manuscripts when any financial, institutional, academic, or personal conflict of interest could influence their judgment.

Timeliness

Reviewers are expected to complete their evaluations within the agreed review period. If additional time is required or the reviewer is unable to complete the review, the editorial office should be informed promptly.

Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, transparent, and efficient editorial process.

Editorial Independence

Editorial decisions are based exclusively on the originality, scientific quality, significance, and relevance of the manuscript to the journal's scope. Decisions are made without discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, gender, institutional affiliation, religion, or political beliefs.

Confidentiality

Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and must not disclose manuscript information to anyone other than those directly involved in the editorial and peer-review process.

Conflict of Interest

Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists. Such manuscripts will be assigned to another qualified editor.

Ethical Oversight

Editors are responsible for investigating allegations of plagiarism, duplicate publication, image manipulation, data fabrication, authorship disputes, and other forms of research misconduct. Investigations will be conducted fairly and confidentially following COPE recommendations.

Handling Ethical Misconduct

The journal takes all allegations of publication misconduct seriously. Potential ethical violations include, but are not limited to:
Plagiarism and self-plagiarism
Duplicate or redundant publication
Data fabrication or falsification
Image manipulation
Authorship disputes
Undisclosed conflicts of interest
Unethical research involving humans or animals
Citation manipulation
Where misconduct is confirmed, the journal may take one or more of the following actions:
Reject the manuscript.
Request corrections from the authors.
Publish a correction or erratum.
Publish an Expression of Concern.
Retract the published article.
Notify the authors' institutions or funding agencies when appropriate.
All investigations are conducted in accordance with COPE guidelines.

When significant errors or ethical concerns are identified after publication, the journal may issue:

Corrections and retractions are published to preserve the integrity and accuracy of the scholarly record.

Open Access and Licensing

AMSE is a Open Access journal. All published articles are immediately and permanently available to readers without subscription or access fees.
Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License, which permits sharing, distribution, adaptation, and reproduction in any medium, provided appropriate credit is given to the original authors and source.

Archiving and Digital Preservation

To ensure the long-term preservation and accessibility of published research, the journal archives its content in recognized digital repositories and preservation services. Published articles remain permanently accessible through the journal website and participating indexing and archiving platforms.

Appeals and Complaints

Authors who disagree with an editorial decision may submit a formal appeal by providing a detailed written explanation and any supporting evidence to the Editorial Office.
Complaints concerning editorial decisions, publication ethics, reviewer conduct, or journal policies will be investigated fairly, impartially, and confidentially by the editorial team. Where appropriate, the matter may be referred to the journal's Ethics Committee for further review.
